The Faculty of Humanities was established in 1985, at the same time as Szczecin University. The faculty is authorized to grant doctoral and post-doctoral degrees in pedagogy and philosophy. The faculty is composed of six institutes (Philosophy, History and International Relations, Pedagogy, Psychology, Political Science and European Studies, Sociology) and three Chairs (Research on Conflict and Peace, the Chair of Arts Education, the Chair of Ethnic Studies and Cultural Anthropology).
